Beds are where a yard is won or lost. A mown lawn beside a weedy, collapsing bed still reads as untidy. We keep beds weeded, edges cut, mulch topped up where it has thinned, spent blooms removed, and plants trimmed back before they sprawl over each other — on a regular rotation, so the beds never get far enough gone to need rescuing.
